Can be used as a cover lesson or set of lessons to encourage students to think about the role of a graphic designer. Uses the work of Milton Glaser for Coca cola as a base for students to develop their drawing, shading, use of colour, as well as their design skills in order to help understand what makes a good advert/poster. I normally print this off A3 size in colour, however A4 works well too. Includes a tonal drawing activity, a design activity, as well as some analysis and evaluation questions. If it’s done well, this should take a few hours to complete.

Hokusai Worksheet Featuring three pieces from Hokusai, asking students to describe the piece in detail and question what the piece would look like if it were to be recreated today. The worksheet also asks students to fill in the gaps on one of his pieces. Worksheet has key words to help students. Would work well as a cover lesson too.
