AQA English Literature - Paper 1 - Mock Romeo and Juliet Questions

(96)
33 questions and 1 template: what more could you want. A series of mock questions for AQA English Literature, Paper 1, Section A: Shakespeare. I've endeavoured to make one question per scene, with more for the longer/more important scenes. The wording(s) for the questions are taken from the exemplar questions available on the AQA website. This resource is designed to compliment by scene breakdown, which, alas, is not yet uploaded. Check it out though, some point in the future. Also included is a template should you wish to make your own - I've endeavoured to make them facsimiles of the actual questions, since we all know students are ardent believers in verisimilitude. Should you find any errors, sincerest apologies. Should you find anything you don't like, well, tough. Should you create you own, publish it! Sharing is caring after all. Bonne chance, enjoy, and good luck!

AQA A Christmas Carol - Mock Exam Questions

So, it’s the day before the exam, you’re on a train ride to London and what do you think: ‘I wish I had 73 practice questions for A Christmas Carol.’ Well, this resource is here to rescue you beleaguered souls from the trepidacious experience of not being able to clobber your students with practice questions. Attached are 73 questions, organised by Stave and page number - the page numbers correspond with the edition https://www.ibiblio.org/ebooks/Dickens/Carol/Dickens_Carol.pdf. I’ve endeavoured to make the questions as authentic to the AQA model as possible - the wording is taken from the variety of Literature Paper 1 questions found in the Secure Materials. I apologise in advance for the egregious number of spelling errors that are doubtless in here. And to get on a high horse briefly here - but screw it, I’m giving you 73 questions for free - I am not charging for these because for God’s sake, we’re teachers: who hasn’t downloaded a resource last minute off of TES, or hoped to save an hour of their time to spend meaningfully somewhere else. In downloading this resource I hope that you too support this thesis and will promulgate it to its maximum potential.

The Diet - Carol Ann Duffy - A Level Literature

A PowerPoint guiding student through analysing Carol Ann Duffy's poem 'The Diet', part of the Feminine Gospels. This was created as part of paper 2b: Texts in Shared Contexts: Modern Times: Literature from 1945 to the Present Day. The lesson includes an exploration of representation of women (including the attached Guardian article) for AO3,feminist Susie Orbach (for AO3 and AO5), before analysing language and structural features for AO2 and providing students with an exemplar essay question. It is not the best, but sometimes you have to say: what the hell! Suffice it to say, as I am not Carol Ann Duffy or Hannah Betts, I own nothing.

We've all been there: the tentative hours are ekeing away, the exam looms with greater propinquity and still the wee ankle-biters WILL NOT READ THE PLAY. Well fear not, because this resource is here to alleviate such issues. Included is every scene within the play, with longer ones broken into stages. For each you will find: the plot, including key quotes; key theme; AO2/AO3/both info. And, free of charge, some lame jokes and pretty pictures. In doing so, you will be able to guide your students through the play without having to read the entire thing. Well, that's the plan anyway. Lord knows, this was a nocturnal endeavour, so if you find any aspect sketchy, tenuous, or downright febrile, modify it to mollify yourself. I sincerely hope this may be of some use to you, even if it just a revision resource. If you are feeling downright gorgeous, do leave a rating. Or a review. But day something nice: my ego is TERRIBLY fragile. Until such time, bonne chance, enjoy, and good luck!
