A-Level Russia in Revolution Revision
This presentation covers all four Key Topics of the Russia in Revolution, 1894–1924 course for A-Level Pearson Edexcel History. It begins with the rule of Nicholas II and the nature of Tsarist autocracy, examining political opposition, economic change, and the causes and impact of the 1905 Revolution. It then explores the events of 1917, including the February and October Revolutions, and the roles of key individuals such as Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky. The presentation also analyses the consolidation of Bolshevik power, including the Civil War, War Communism, and the New Economic Policy (NEP). Finally, it assesses the political, economic, and social changes under Lenin and the early Soviet state up to 1924, considering how revolutionary Russia was by the time of Lenin’s death.
