Relative clauses lesson and worksheet - Completed with my year 7s but good for any skills lesson. There is also an extended writing task at the end so students can apply their learning alongside peer assessment.
An 'outstanding' lesson on prejudice in the media - comparing how males and females are represented in both television and magazines. Images are just taken from OK and Men's health. I used this with a year 8 mixed ability. Differentiated tasks shown by colours:

Fun lesson teaching students what an oxymoron is.
Students discuss well known phrases as well as conducting their own.
They then apply this into a piece of writing. (My class then acted out the pieces that they had written - was fab!)

Lesson whereby students are to write a newspaper report based on incidents that have happened in the play.
There is a slide with a key summary of events so students know exactly what their article should be on.

Includes: Introduction, context, all the world's a stage, Romeo and Juliet research task, Romeo and Juliet prologue analysis, Baz Luhrman Symbolism, A variety of activities that are differentiated by colour (red, amber, green, purple). Done with Yr 8 mixed ability classes where students responded very well.
A one off fun lesson looking at the history of Valentines day, key words that can be linked to Valentines day and 'secret valentine' poetry. Used with year 7 and they absolutely loved it.
