This booklet contains various activities to suit both GCSE and A level students for a cultural trip to Madrid, Spain. I have created these resources to enable my students to gain a thorough understanding of the structure required for the IRP. This is in line with AQA but have used some of these previously with EDEXCEL (just need adapting)

Produced for Year 12 students. A multi purpose PP lesson containing activities to assess 4 key components in Spanish assessing students’ ability to understand about cyber space; pros and cons about use of internet and contains questions for debate as well as challenge and extension activities throughout. This resource goes in line with Dynamic Learning AQA a level Spanish.

A challenging reading comprehension activity designed for Year 11 to give them top structures on the topic of environment. This can be used for an assessment or class activity and is designed to stretch and challenge learners. I have also included a 10 mark grammar actiivty which is similar to the new IGCSE Edexcel style question but only focusing on regular verbs in past/present and future.

This resource I made a few months ago and have displayed in my classroom for pupils to challenge themselves further. Most have engaged well with the suggested activities and the resource itself has been effective in terms of encouraging student ownership of tasks and developing their language skills. Plenty of opportunity for AFL/Differentiation of weaker/stronger students.

This reference sheet I have created for my IGCSE Spanish group. I have included a grid with the main tenses and also the Imperfect and Conditional Tenses with some examples of Pluperfect subjunctive using. ‘si fuera rico/si tuviera mucho dinero’… In addition, I have made a list of some different adjectives as I’ve found my students overuse ‘aburrido’ ‘interesante’ etc and I’ve replaced those with some more ‘interesting’ adjectives.

A number of resources to support students with their final revision for their Spanish GCSE Exams. Most are designed for speaking revision, although there are also useful activities on using complex language structures as well as reading/grammar activities to help with Topic Area D: Modern World and Environment from IGCSE Edexcel list of topics. There is also a whole set of Quizlet questions in PDF format to give you a range of questions to test all abilities and challenge the more competent.

These I have used for GCSE but mainly for A Level Spanish classes and this resource contains a variety of Spanish songs where learners have to fill in the gaps listening to the lyrics easily found on Youtube. In some songs, there are opportunities for further learning on some grammar points such as the Imperfect Subjunctive. My students really enjoy these and I feedback from them is that they have the motivation to go home and listen to more songs. These are also useful to set as a homework. There is also a word document with website links to Spanish songs which I sent to my students.

Designed for mixed ability Year 8 as part of introduction to the topic of 'Las asignaturas'. Plenty of opportunity for repetiiton and drilling of the language as the PP is interactive. The starter activity is basic, however, I put extension work on the board to further challenge them with connectives and opinions.

Designed for an introduction lesson for Year 7 French. PP is interactive and enables students to practise pronunciation as well as giving them a first look at key descriptive words for hair/eye colour. There is a Who wants to be a millionaire game with only 10 out of 15 questions included but I used this as a quick plenary so didn’t want anymore questions. Also I have included a worksheet activity where learners can label the faces and colour in hairstyle and eye colour.

Used as a recap with my Year 9 Spanish class on the topic of ‘Las vacaciones’. Used in line with the Viva 2 text book with vocabulary extracted from the holidays chapter.

A series of useful resources for initial guidance on the Independent Research Project in Spanish. Some information extracted from the specification AQA Spanish. There is also a useful PP presentation containing slides of information mainly based on the advice from the text book with some additional slides for support. The Preparation guide should prove extremely useful for my students as they will be able to record what they’re doing each week for their project.

A mixture of grammar points made into a game of who wants to be a millionaire? I have used this as a revision tool for Year 12 Spanish before pupils’ grammar test but can obviously be adapted and questions/answered changed.

A variety of vocabulary tests in line with Dynamo 1 Textbook for Year 7 French on the first topic. These also contain challenge sentences for early finishers and for extension work. English answers achieve 1 mark and answers into French for 2 marks. These can be adapted and more words tested if required.

These starter activities are most suitable for KS3 Spanish students to enable them to complete a range of activities to introduce them to key vocabulary on several topics including sports, where I live and places of interested. All these activities contain opportunities for further extension work and can be easily adapted to accommodate the needs of all pupils in your class.

These resources are designed for A level students. There are several gap fill activities with accompanying answers which I recorded as a listening activity but could be adapted to suit specific requirements of a certain group/set of students. Very useful for topic-specific vocabulary and to gain an initial understanding of the Franco regime. PPs are interactive and elicit conversations centred around main topic of the dictatorship.

Starter activity requires learners to match up modal verbs in the ‘I’ form. I made this more challenging by getting students to try to translate the verbs into English. There are then practice slides before attempting some translation. Homework also tests them on ‘je/tu/il,elle’ forms.

This test contains a Translation with accompanying Mark Scheme, as well as a Reading section on the Modern Spanish Family and in addition, a grammar section on reflexive, present regular and irregular verbs. *I can send this as an attachment to your email as some parts of the exam may not have edited properly. grahenshall89@hotmail.com

PP classes in line with Viva 2 coursebook with one lesson on ‘Mi vida, mi móvil’ and 3 lessons on ‘La música’ These are used an introduction to the topic but will possibly need more content added to test other key skill areas.
