How to write an article worksheet

This worksheet walks students through how to structure an article to present their own opinion on a topic. They are given an example article that follows a specific structure and uses persuasive writing techniques (DAFOREST). They are asked to identify examples of the persuasive techniques used and then they have a go at using the same structure to construct their own argument on a different topic. The advice given on how to write an article is influenced by the criteria for the non-fiction writing question in Paper 2 Question 5 of AQA’s English Language GCSE papers. I have uploaded the file as both a PDF and a word document.
