Three useful resources to help students improve their ability and independence when demonstrating the maths skills needed for KS3 and KS4 Science. Each resource walks students through how to complete one of three common skills needed: calculating mean averages, drawing bar graphs and drawing scatter graphs. The mean average sheet is scaffolded to help students even if they struggle with using their calculator too. The graph sheets both contain checklists which students can use to self assess their graphs. Useful to print and laminate as a classroom resource, or print and disseminate to students.

I have created some recall based Q&A cards for the Edexcel A level Biology B specification. Students can use these independently or as part of a revision game with classmates e.g. with a snakes and ladders board. This pack contains cards on the following topics: 3,4,5,7,8 and 10 as this is the side of the course I teach.

This is a useful worksheet to use either for a cover lesson, a homework or within a lesson after completing the burning foods practical. The focus is How Science Works and Maths skills (means and graphs). It has been scaffolded to be suitable for a lower ability group or for a class who are working completely independently of the teacher (i.e. in a cover lesson). Skills involved include: variables, graph skills, analysing data, minimising risk and ensuring validity.
