A revision lesson for EDUQAS GCSE Music Set Works - Africa and Badinerie. The task covers the key elements of each set work. It is ideal to use in a pre-exam briefing or revision session. It could also be used as a starter activity in a series of lessons. The PowerPoint includes a slide for each key element of Badinerie and Africa, displaying them side by side so that students can see the similarities and differences. The last slide of the PowerPoint gives instructions on how to structure the task. My year 11 class loved this and said it was a really useful activity to do right before their exam. Move the PowerPoint on when the class are clapping the rhythm correctly. A homework or independent study project for vocational music students. The aim of the project is for students to broaden their listening within contemporary styles. The task encourages students to focus their listening on their main instrument and exposes them to technical playing. Every day for 30 days students will choose one song from the list to listen to. They should write a brief review of each song and at the end of the project select and justify their favourite tracks. Can be set as a homework or independent study task. Could also be set as a summer holiday or transition task. Suitable for key stage 4 or key stage 5 BTEC and RSL students.
