Surface Area of a Cuboid and Cylinder Using Nets (Unfolding Solids) Grade: 7–9 Boards: IGCSE, GCSE,
This resource has been carefully prepared by Shahbaz Ahmed, a mathematics educator with many years of experience creating clear and practical learning materials. Over the past few months, 46 of my documents have already been downloaded, which encourages me to continue producing high-quality resources for students and teachers. In this document, I focus on making the concepts of surface area and volume of solids intuitive and easy to understand through nets (unfolding of 3D shapes), clear diagrams, and step-by-step solutions. The aim is not only to solve problems but also to help learners visualize how formulas are derived and applied. I designed this material especially for Grade 7–9 students (IGCSE, GCSE, Cambridge, and CBSE boards) so that they can develop strong conceptual understanding, practical reasoning, and self-learning confidence in geometry. Teachers may also find it useful as a classroom explanation resource or visual teaching aid.
