Music of the Week – Posters & Teacher Notes Alongside this year’s Music of the Week PowerPoint programme, I have also created 78 professionally designed posters—one for Key Stage 1 and one for Key Stage 2 for each of the 39 weeks—together with a full set of accompanying teacher notes. These resources are designed to be used as 15-minute high-quality listening sessions within music lessons, providing teachers with everything they need to deliver engaging and meaningful music appreciation. Music of the Week 2026–2027 Here it is – our brand new Music of the Week listening programme for 2026–2027! This year’s programme features 39 carefully selected pieces of music, introducing children to a wide range of composers, performers, musical styles and cultures from around the world. From Baroque masterpieces and Romantic concertos to jazz, opera, world music, film music and contemporary artists, there is something new to discover every week.

As with my other resource, the PDF contains 38 slides of different artists and composers. This can be used as a classroom resource, for a weekly assembly focus or a whole school listening programme. On each slide you will find The name and picture of the artist or composer Some information about the artist and their work A embedded You Tube link to listen to the piece of music. Ideal for Listening and Appraising music and for children to explore about how they feel about different pieces of music.
