Learn to ride your Menstrual Waves

(0)
This resource is designed to support young girls who are beginning menstruation, alongside the adults supporting them at home and in school. It takes a calm, educational approach to menstrual wellbeing, focusing on understanding, reassurance, and body awareness rather than medical detail. The student booklet provides a simple, age-appropriate way for girls to learn about their menstrual cycle and gently track it over time. The activities encourage noticing patterns, changes, and feelings in a private and respectful way, helping to build confidence and a sense of normality as their bodies change. Alongside the booklet, a parent information leaflet is included. This offers guidance for parents or caregivers on how to support their child, explain tracking, and keep conversations open and reassuring. It is intended to complement school-based learning and strengthen home–school communication around puberty and wellbeing. This resource can be used: As part of SPHE / PSHE / wellbeing education Within puberty or menstrual health lessons As a take-home support for families By pastoral care teams or wellbeing coordinators The focus throughout is on emotional literacy, self-awareness, and respectful learning, allowing each child and family to move at their own pace.
