Colour-coded scores for xylophone, handbells etc.: simple songs and nursery rhymes

(0)
Included in this downloadable PDF pack is 5 simple songs / nursery rhymes to be played on rainbow coloured xylophones, glockenspiels, handbell, keyboards AND MORE! These are accessible scores for young children, and people with additional needs or learning disabilities. Colour coded to match common colourful instruments such as handbells, xylophones, glockenspiels etc. These have been tried and tested in a special education context and work very well! There are more packs to come, including more simple songs, some challenging pop song arrangements, and themed holiday packs! My name is Eimear and I am a music teacher to students with autism, complex needs and intellectual disabilities. I was trained as a teacher for mainstream settings so when I found myself in specialist classrooms I couldn’t find many resources for my students NOTE: these have been made by a human using Canva. No generative AI has been used by me to create these, and never will. I am a music teacher in a special education context who is passionate about her work and the quality of materials she gives to her students! There are many instruments out there with notes that correspond with the rainbow, so over the years I have created scores that I can keep in one place and use as I need them. These vary from simple nursery rhymes and songs, to more complicated pop songs and themed tunes and jingles for holidays and events. These scores have been invaluable for me and have allowed and encouraged my students to be independent musicians. They have allowed young people who have never before played an instrument to perform full songs for their parents and peers! The colours of the notes in my scores correspond with the rainbow as this was the most common combination of colours I saw in instruments. There is also the assumption that the instrument is tuned to the C Major scale. C is red, D is orange, E is yellow, etc. High C in this case is actually white as this matches most handbell sets. I added stickers to keyboards with the same colour key. C Red D Orange E Yellow F Green G Light Blue A Dark Blue B Purple C White
