A fun bundle of resources that allow children to learn and rehearse the skills of adding 2 2-digit numbers without crossing the tens boundary. Two different strategies are modelled through 2 animated PPTs. Children can then apply their skills using a worksheet and fun, space themed game. The game has an IWB version included so that it can be modelled to the class before they play in pairs. 1) Animated PPT that models how to add 2 2-digit numbers using Base 10 apparatus to support. 2) Animated PPT that models how to add 2 2-digit numbers using arrow cards to support. 3) 'Spockbusters' space themed game for IWB that allows children to rehearse the skills learned through the PPTs 5) 'Spockbusters' game board for playing in pairs - you will also need coloured pencils OR counters/tiddlywinks 6) A worksheet of addition problems Please take a look at my other addition resources for more fun ideas.

A very simple counting game for Nursery children. Take turns to use the eraser to clean the windows and doors of the pigs’ houses. Either a pig or an empty room will appear, then count how many pigs are hiding in each house (max 3). Remember, when you have finished with the game, do not save the changes or there will be nothing to ‘clean away’ next time you play.

Beased on Eric Carles '10 Little Rubber Ducks'. Ducks are packed ten to a box aboard a cargo ship but some have fallen overboard. Now the captain needs to check his cargo. How any are overboard? Use eraser to search the sea. (Remember not to save the changes when you exit the game, if you do you will have to replace all of the seawater that you erased the first time if you want to play again!)

A fun collection of resources that teaches how to subtract a 2-digit from another 2 digit number using practical apparatus and jotting pictures (line and dot method). 1) An animated PPT that teaches children to subtract 2-digit numbers from other 2 digit numbers. The PPT starts by representing the values with Base 10 apparatus and progresses to teaching how children could use the same strategy but replace the practical apparatus with pictorial representations in order to solve the same calculations with just pencil and paper. 2) A space themed IWB game 'Spockbusters' to rehearse the skills learned in the lesson starter. This is ideal for modelling the game to the class before they play in pairs. 3) A 'Spockbusters' game board for paired play.

Children move around a game board, when they land on a suffix they must select a verb word card and copy the word onto their whiteboard before adding the suffix to it. The first child to write down six correctly spelled words wins. Prompt cards that remind the children of the spelling rules are provided to be used alongside the game. The game is designed to allow children to rehearse adding -ing and -ed to verbs with long vowel sounds and one syllable verbs with a short vowel sound.

Included is an IWB activity that could be used to start the lesson. Children read the silly sentence starter, roll the die, drag the corresponding conjunction into the sentence and then complete the silly sentence. The main activities involve children selecting a 'sentence starter' card, and using a die to select a conjunction. I got children to work in pairs and record their conjunctions on whiteboards.
