Weekly 10-word spelling tests, modelled on the SATs spelling paper format where the words are part of sentences.
Tests alternate between Year 3/4 spellings and Year 5/6 spellings. There are 21 total tests - 10x Year 3/4 and 10x Year 5/6 with one mixed test at the end.
Originally used to explain how to find the area of compound shapes by breaking the shape apart. Children created their own house floor plan and then used the information to find the individual and then total area.

A Powerpoint presentation explaining the STEM activity - the Egg Drop Challenge. Pupils are given resources to create a craft capable of protecting an egg from a drop (editable to whatever resources and height you choose).
This is a fantastic time-filling activity for towards Christmas or the end of term that encourages teamwork and out-of-the-box thinking.
A team score sheet is also included which can be edited to reflect skills you would like to highlight and point allocations.
