LOOK AGAIN! Professional Curiosity

(0)
A scenario-based safeguarding CPD resource for developing professional curiosity, information-sharing and decision-making when the whole picture is not yet clear. LOOK AGAIN! is not another “spot the safeguarding concern” exercise. Across 25 scenarios, participants encounter situations with varying levels of concern. New information may increase concern, decrease it, change its direction or leave important questions unanswered. The aim is not to diagnose abuse or harm, but to discuss what is noticed, known or assumed, and when to share information. How does LOOK AGAIN! work? Each scenario uses two cards, each with a front and reverse. Card 1 introduces a situation and guided prompts to help participants notice and question the information available. Only after discussion is further information revealed on Card 2, inviting participants to LOOK AGAIN! What has changed? Do observations now connect? What remains unknown? What response is appropriate? There is not always a predetermined answer. Concern may increase, decrease, change direction or remain uncertain. The focus is on noticing before interpreting, remaining curious and responding thoughtfully rather than simply identifying a hidden safeguarding issue. What is included? LOOK AGAIN! Pack 1 contains 25 scenarios and 50 illustrated training cards across different ages, settings, adult perspectives and possible forms of abuse, harm and professional concern. Your purchase includes three downloadable PDFs: Facilitator Guide (131 pages): Guidance for all 25 scenarios, including discussion prompts, LOOK AGAIN! principles, safeguarding connections and hyperlinked navigation. Digital Card Deck: On-screen cards with hyperlinks for quick navigation, suitable for presentations, online sessions and digital devices. Printable Card Deck: Cards arranged for two-sided printing and use as a physical training resource. Who is it for? Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. LOOK AGAIN! is designed for adults across educational settings, not only teachers. Scenarios include teaching assistants, administrators, site staff, volunteers and visiting practitioners. How can it be used? A flexible resource for INSET, staff CPD, safeguarding updates, whole-group or small-group discussion and staff meetings. Use several scenarios in a dedicated session or one weekly or fortnightly to encourage ongoing professional curiosity between formal training cycles. Important information LOOK AGAIN! complements, but does not replace, formal safeguarding training, statutory guidance or local procedures. The Facilitator Guide refers where relevant to guidance for educational settings in England; users elsewhere should follow their own jurisdiction’s requirements. Purchase permits repeated internal training use within the purchasing setting or organisation. Files must not be redistributed outside it, resold or uploaded to public or external shared platforms.
