SEND money skills for secondary and post-16: six editable maths lessons with worksheets, worked answers and assessment for shopping, change and budgeting. Using fictional GBP prices and stationery-shopping scenarios, learners practise: Comparing money amounts. Adding shopping totals. Calculating cash change. Comparing prices and offers. Planning purchases within a budget. Applying their skills to a combined shopping task. The resource includes 31 editable PowerPoint slides with presenter notes, a 17-page learner workbook and a 16-page teaching guide with lesson sequences, practical activities and worked answers. The workbook and guide come in editable Word and printable PDF formats. Each session includes whole-pound supported practice and pounds-and-pence independent practice. Starting and follow-up checks, a staff progress record, shop price cards and a reusable shopping record are also included. Suitable for selected SEND numeracy, life-skills and preparation-for-adulthood groups in secondary and FE settings. Choose activities according to each learner’s numeracy and communication needs. The supported route assumes recognition of numerals to 10 and emerging addition and subtraction with objects. The independent route uses pounds and pence and calculations within £10. Staff can read instructions and accept spoken, pointed or written responses. Allow approximately 45 minutes per session, adapting the pace as needed. Physical coins, counters and calculators are not supplied. No coin photographs or AAC symbol library are included. This is a classroom practice unit, not a complete Functional Skills course or an accredited assessment.
