A simple labelling worksheet for pupils to annotate parts of the male and female reproductive systems, plus some extension questions. Used with a year 7 class.
Contains 12 sizeable crosswords (approx 20-30 words each) to cover every topic of OCR Year 12 Biology. Great for revision of key words - there are a lot of them in A Level Biology!
A quick worksheet to cover important points about the menstrual cycle for the year 7 reproduction topic. Includes a few simple data analysis questions plus some that require more understanding.
PowerPoint presentations including worked examples and practice for each of the following statistical tests:
Simpson’s Index of Diversity
Mean and Standard Deviation
T-tests - Paired and Unpaired
Spearman’s Rank
Used alongside practical work - both quadrat data from fieldwork, and analysing heart rate data before and after exercise.
Note that answers will vary slighty depending on where students (or you) round your answers.
An end of topic revision activity on particles and chemical reactions. Tasks can easily be removed or changed to allow for slightly different schemes of work.
Just a couple of fun resources to be used towards the end of the year, perhaps as revision for an end of year test. Topics covered include acids and alkalis, particles and separation techniques.
A two lesson activity on investigating the effect of temperature on solubility. For the first lesson pupils should be talked through how to plan their own investigation, before using the planning sheet with hints to plan theirs.
The second lesson is a practical whereby pupils could either use their own method (if it will work) or the method on the practical sheet to carry out an investigation and record results with a graph.
A small revision sheet which I gave to year 7 pupils at the end of a topic which covered classifying, food webs, adaptations and photosynthesis. Just helps pupils to focus their revision.
Used for mixed ability year 7 class. A worksheet with some quick-answer overview questions that could be used as part of a plenary or a homework to summarise a lesson on photosynthesis. Extension at the bottom allows higher ability pupils to see the link between respiration and photosynthesis in plants, and reminds pupils that all living things must respire.
A worksheet resource used with year 7s to help them revise the 'Cells' topic. Covers plant and animal cells, as well as MRS NERG and specialised cells.
Used with a mixed ability year 7 class. A worksheet to encourage pupils to look at key features of an animal to determine which vertebrate group it belongs to. Encourages pupils to apply their knowledge to unfamiliar situations, and requires them to really think about key features rather than simply how an animal appears. Also allows pupils (perhaps higher ability) to create their own animal to place into a vertebrate group.
