For a Y5 lesson in our Space Topic.
Read the powerpoint to children and then asked them to stick title and picture in. After that children chose some of their favourite facts about Galileo and wrote them around the picture.
A stand alone lesson I started the year with. It tests all four basic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
I found it useful to assess my Year 5 class at the start of the year.
This was used as part of a Y5 topic on the Tudors. Children followed a PPT on the Armada then answered the range of questions on the sheet, testing out different skills.
Ideal for homework or morning starters, each sheet attached asks a question and requires children to write a paragraph about the question.
It has a space to allow children to formulate ideas first, and then to write their paragraph out properly. There are 8 different tasks to choose from, spreading over a range of topics.
There is an instagram page online that gives teachers different ideas to do with picture books.
They mostly focus on English lessons, but also include some PSHE and speaking & listening ideas
