Then translate them into English, with an emphasis on cognates to avoid unnecessary use of the dictionary. The third task involves describing their best friend. This is a worksheet to help your students get to know their Modern Language Assistant during the Assistant's first lesson at school. Give a copy of the sheet to the Assistant prior to the lesson so that they can plan what they are going to say. Pupils then listen to the Assistant present themselves in the target language and they make notes in English about the Assistant based on what they understand. It&'s effectively a good opportunity to improve listening skills.
