Rock Cycle model using chocolate. This is the teacher notes with an ingredients list to perform the model. It is a teacher demonstration. The notes include suggested questions and information to focus the pupils and get the most out of the model. I have added information to make it easier for non-chemistry specialists, so my appologies if theis seems condesending to any one who is more familiar with the rock cycle!! Enjoy :)

Lesson Plan, PowerPoint and Full Resources. There is a modelling activity for students which can be done using chalk on the floor or swapped entirely for an animation or other alternative. I have used this with a number of classes, but in this form was the last time I received an 'Outstanding' with the new OFSTED guidelines. Some activities will be useful separate to the rest of the lesson plan.

Laminate the nutrient information posters and display them around the room. Pupils use these to complete the information table. It is an active way of pupils learning the information. I use this in a number of topics and pupils enjoy getting out of their seats and finding information themselves. For extra excitement, hide some of the posters in more difficult places, on the inside of cupboard doors etc. The font and size is dyslexia friendly and should be printed on recycled non-bright white paper if possible. I hope you find this useful! :)

Adaptable to all topics and all subjects. You need a beach ball with numbers 1-20 written on in permanent marker. Pupils catch the ball and tell you the number their right thumb is closest to...you click that number and it jumps to that slide and the pupil tells you as much as they can about that word or picture. I don't use questions in case it puts nervous pupils off. The nature of one word or picture really helps them think and elaborate. You can prompt as much as you like in order to differentiate. Enjoy!

Science Projects for gifted and talented or high ability students

These are resources I have produced based on ideas on various websites including TES that were specified as gifted and talented projects but did not come with student resources. I made a task sheet for each project and a feedback sheet that can be printed twice and given part way through as formative assessment to steer students in the right direction and be put in a folder as evidence of dialogue. They are easily adapted. I hope some of you find them useful.
