Direct proportion help sheet
This help sheet consists of 7 steps for direct proportion questions detailed at the top, with three examples following the 7 steps below. The first example is a variable in direct proportion to another variable, the second example is a variable in direct proportion to the square of another variable and the third example is a variable in direct proportion to the square root of another variable. I have used this with my set 2 and 3 from year 9 but it can be adapted by eliminating step 6 and 7 for lower ability to just take them to setting up the equation. It can also be used right up to GCSE for a range of ability students.
