A 10 lesson Unit plan based around the story of The Diary of a Killer Cat. This unit will help children understand points of view and writing in a first person narrative. Focuses on both reading and responding and grammar for writing. Short writing opportunities include a crime report and a recount in role. Shared writing opportunties include using noun phrases, subordinating conjunctions and speech marks. Independent write: diary entry as the character Tuffy. Resources included in the folder also. Feel free to adapt for your class as needed.
