A sentence builder I used with Year 10 to help them get to grips with the “Customs and Festivals” topic (AQA GCSE Unit 4). Initially the sentences can be used for receptive practice and later in the process for productive work. There is also a “find the French” task to help them familiarise themselves with the new language, and a translation into English which could then be used as a model paragraph for speaking/writing.

There are both Power Point and Word versions so it could be used in a variety of ways (in class, as homework, for assessment etc.)

Two powerpoints which I used to recap the immigration topic with Year 13, and to bring them up-to-date with some current developments, as the resources in the text book are now almost a decade out of date. In the longer powerpoint, there are some general statistics and a section on the new “Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz” in Germany, and the second powerpoint is about the controversial Miss Germany winner who was born in Iran. There are various tasks throughout, but many of the texts also lend themselves to German to English translation, and can be used as stimulus material for speaking cards.
