This is an open-ended resource with suggested exercises to help improve students’ vocabulary. It has applications in English, MFL and ESOL and could be adapted for Geography and Art too. This resource pack is based around a presentation containing the following: • A photograph of a scene with a bias towards certain colours and shades • A swatch of colours relating to those in that picture • A Haiku using adjectives to describe the photograph

This is a presentation explaining several English idioms involving colours. Each idiom has an example and an illustration. Feel free to make use of this resource as you wish; most of the images used are public domain (and if they aren't they are under Creative Commons licences).
