This is a maths project that requires the students to plan a holiday using a budget and outline an itinerary for the trip, information about the places they will visit as well as a budget using an excel spreadsheet. Perfect for teaching money and time this project is set at around a grade 5/6 level.

This project can be adapted to suit any school that has a spare wall that could be converted into a wall garden. The kids loved this project and were super engaged and excited about the fact that their work would become a reality. We ran it like a competition with groups of 2 or 3 students where the best design won the right to be created. Perfect for real world application of area and perimeter skills as well as design and spatial awareness.
