Shakespeare's Metaphorical Language

(1)
L.O. To analyse Shakespeare’s use of metaphors in order to create meaning in poetry. A focus of Shakespeare's Sonnet 130 and Sonnet 18 and how imagery is used for effect. The PowerPoint starts by offering some metaphors that students can engage with; and then annotate as many different interpretations as possible. The remainder of the lesson is to look at Shakespeare's sonnets, with some questions for students to respond to, followed by an extension activity. Easily adaptable, able to differentiate to any ability level.
