This resource was made using the following TES contributors AMEIT - who wrote an A-Z of communication (the auther name on document was A Shahim) I used a powerpoint template kindly donated to TES? by K Constable- Good starter for As or Az communications - I have included the A-Z on the powerpoint so only one page needs printed - the powerpoint needs some love and for paper free schools why not show the grid and freeze the powerpoint and mark off manually

Young Apprentice challenge

This was devised by me and Sophie from Hewett school in Norwich- We have completed unit 1 edexcel and wanted a way to go back over marketing - Kids are engaged. If you show the last but one young apprentice - we nicked the task from the 'Holland trip' Spreadsheet is a little complicated but works on setting a rrp and then calclates wholesale at 50% to cover VAT - that way if teams negotiate you can bring down wholesale price and reduce margin Feedback please!

This activity I have prepared was adapted for a suggestion from Tutor 2 U which I picked up last year. I tend to work in cycles so It is time to use this great activity for KS4 and KS5. This time I have put it onto power point with a handy timer on it. You can use as a starter or a main activity – I have used it to look at market mapping, segments even suggestions for shops when looking at shopping centres.

Whats in the box starter and plenary

I am not sure who gave me the original to this - I have adapted it. I get one student up they pick a box – It should work for interactive if you have one (I do not) Click the box then the student asks the question! If they are stuck they can get someone up to help them They can then ask any student of their choice the next question – I do it boy/girl Hover over the underline and it goes back to start – I have not figured a way out of making the question disappear!

Think about who the programme you watching is aimed for then make a note of the adverts- Analysis- are these products suitable for the type of people watching the programme? Powerpoint is limited to 12 so can be printed on a 6 slide per page for a paper starter

Proving MRP with burgers!

MRP I find difficult to teach - until I did this- Making burgers! I split group into teams, armed with photocopies of burgers, 1 pair of scissors, blue tack and attached to a wall a piece of flipchart with 4 grids (1 per month) and a team name. tracking sheet (on powerpoint) and graph paper at the end. After each round total counted and another worker counted. at end they can draw MRP and prove (hopefully) law of diminishing returns could be adapted to teach business productivity
