Powerpoint on basic cultural information about Mexico - food, festivals, music, famous people, indigenous languages, well-known icons. Some slides are in English and some are in Spanish. Aimed at junior years, beginners.

Telepathy is an inventive speaking activity that I found on TES a long time ago and have adapted many times. I have left the original instructions on the note part of the slide. This one practices the verb habiter, près de, loin de, types of dwellings and places in towns.

Spanish worksheet to identify direct object pronouns, verbs, nouns, adverbs and expressions of frequency.

Example sentences with desayuno as a noun and a verb. Part 1 requires identification of desayuno (noun or verb?), part 2 is a mini reading comprehension.

Homework or classwork document. Put the daily routine statements in the correct order. This covers the whole day and includes times, rooms of the house, food, expressions of frequency. Sorry for the lack of answer sheet!

Simple match-up activity, Spanish free time activities and immediate future. Match up the sentence starter with the second part of the sentence. Time expressions included, to help identify indicative tense vs immediate future tense.

Two pages of sentences with a mistake in each, which the students have to identify and explain. The top part is more advanced, the bottom part is less advanced. Method - cut out the sentences and glue onto strips of card. Each student has their own pile (or a pile can be shared by two or three). Once the error is identified - the student brings the strip up to explain it to the teacher. Objective - to be the first to deplete their piles of sentences. Tips - to make it a more physical game - have the students at a good distance away. They must run to the front of the class to do their explaining.

Telepathy is an inventive speaking activity, involving humour and repetition. It is fantastic for getting reticent students to speak out loud. This Telepathy practices adverbs, with leisure activities, chores, musical instruments and sports. I have left the original instructions on the note part of the slide. Some of the adverbs are rather intense (eg taimadamente) so feel free to make changes!

Gap-fill worksheet on personalities. Gender and singular/plural to watch for.

A worksheet with sentences about the family, each containing an error. Students identify each error. The section at the bottom has questions for a student - it can be changed or deleted.

Explanations of equal comparisons - tan como and tanto (etc) como, with some writing exercises for students.
