An Alice in Wonderland Scheme of work I created for my year 7s - may need some differentiation up / down as the text itself can be quite challenging. I used the original text and needed some teacher-led scaffolding as to the language.
There are GCSE style questions (i.e. writing to describe, literature analyses, etc)
The entire scheme of work is placed in a single powerpoint - I created this for a low ability year 7 group to refresh their memories on a range of poetic devices.
Aimed at year 7/8 and reflecting AQA GCSE poetry, these 2 lessons work as a pair, building an analysis of 2 historical figures as a precursor to KS4 poetry comparisons.
Includes:
Guided annotations
Development of ideas
Individual and comparative analyses
Creative writing
Two lessons, comparing and contrasting Edgar Allan Poe’s ‘Annabel Lee’ and ‘Violin - A Personification’ by Elaine George.
The aim of both lessons is, through guided annotations, to understand and analyse two poems. Furthermore, they will be comparing and contrasting these poems to prepare them for the GCSE Literature Anthology(poetry) question.
Revision lessons for the AQA English Literature & Language A-Level course.
Some reference to Handmaid’s Tale but mostly focused on grammar, stylistics and linguistics.
Clear exam outlines.
