This resource contains 4 weeks of Reading lessons on Shakespeare’s plays, adapted and written by Andrew Matthews. Each weekly powerpoint consists of x4 30min lessons, covering one book / play each. They follow the VIPERS reading skills. This was planned for Y4 but could be adapted to suit Y5 quite easily. Each weekly powerpoint includes a short extract selected for each lesson, vocabulary definitions before reading the extracts, often modelled questions for harder tasks, the task, and the answers. Plays chosen are: Romeo & Juliet Macbeth Twelfth Night The Tempest (I have started Much Ado About Nothing but haven’t finished it yet as I’m not sure if we’ll have time for it) The extra slide after each answer slide shows the answers to the SEND adapted questions (when they were needed).
