This is a fun but educational activity which I created for kids who are out of school due to COVID 19 . It focuses on literacy development (comprehension style artist study) but also includes a fun drawing activity to tie lesson together. I designed this as a lead up for lessons on illustration and animation.

This is a lesson designed for QQIL3. It includes a comprehension (place mat) study of illustrator Quentin Blake. It also has a character design activity- looking at expressions, posture etc for students to create their own character. This lesson is a lead up to animation.

Students will learn how to: -Control watercolour medium -Blend and build colour with new media -Experiment with a variety of watercolour techniques. This is an instructional, visual powerpoint with tips for using new media. Students are then instructed to complete an observational study, using the techniques they have just learned.
