This updated planning for 2020 is based on the alternative version of Jack and the Beanstalk, the amazing picture book ‘Jack and the Baked Beanstalk.’ This would be suitable to be adapted to other year groups between Year 1 and Year 3. My Year 2 class really enjoyed it! I have added the cold and hot writing template and the Venn diagram as well. The images for helping with the storyboarding are easily available through a good search, but haven’t included due to copyright issues.

Planning from the National strategies website- 3 weeks planning to inspire Year 4 boys to write. Have used it with both Year 3 and Year 4 classes this week and it is really good. Need to take it a bit slower with Year 3.

This planning is based on the alternative version of Little Red Riding Hood, the amazing picture book ‘Little Red.’ The boys in my Year 2 class especially absolutely loved it, you wouldn’t believe the text talk about this book!
