Murder Mystery Discussion (WWII Theme)

(0)
Pupils work in a group to use a series of clues to piece together the events leading up to a crime. Their task is to identify the perpetrator and explain motives and the events around the crime. This discussion works great as a stand alone activity and, as it has a home-front World War II theme, could be used during this topic. Designed initially for pupils in Years 5 and 6, this activity has also been used with KS3 groups as well. A guide on how to use the resource with tips on promoting quality group discussion is included. The activity typically lasts between an hour and a half - two hours. Covers many of the spoken language NC objectives including: listen and respond appropriately to peers; articulate and justify answers, arguments and opinions; maintain attention and participate actively in collaborative conversations, staying on topic and initiating and responding to comments; participate in discussions, presentations, performances, role play, improvisations and debates; consider and evaluate different viewpoints, attending to and building on the contributions of others
