Numeracy Ninjas Skills Focus: Ratio

(2)
Following in the spirit of the excellent Numeracy Ninjas by William Emeny (available on TES Resources), here are some daily intervention skills focus sheets on Ratio which I am trialling with my classes. These are available free for you to use but please respect the copyright of Numeracy Ninjas name and logo. I would really appreciate your feedback on these as I’m trying to get more of these ready. Any fine-tuning you can suggest would be a great help. In my filenaming system KS4B does not mean Key Stage 4 set B. KS means key skills and 4B means sheet number 4 in set B - the original Numeracy Ninjas intervention being set A. There are 6 pages in file. The first three pages are the student activity, the last 3 pages are the answers.

“Short-division” or “Bus-stop” method. Division by a single digit with one sheet each for divisors 2 through to 8. The first line is fully worked. The second line has the carry revealed as an element of scaffolding. I print the first 8 pages as an A4 booklet on A3 paper for the pupil and pages 9 to 16 are printed as answer booklet for reference or for pupil self-marking.
