This YEAR 10 TERM 1 booklet and powerpoint would suit anyone teaching this subject at KS4, including non-specialists. We run the course over 3 years so that is how the course resources are structured. I have produced a series of booklets which have been honed over the last 3 years, in termly chunks per year group. The associated powerpoint covers all the content for Term 1 in line with the Skills & Knowledge booklet, with 3 clear assessment points, DIRTs and practicals built in. The idea is that this is one stop termly resource which should yield excellent results. Developing Knowledge in line with the course requirements for Unit 1 and also skills to fulfill Unit 2 part of the course. I have always put my resources onto The facebook page for Hospitality & Catering teachers but the powerpoints were always too large to upload there so I have made them into a comprehensive single folders on here, per term, for years 9, 10 and 11. As I am updating (again!) this year I will be adding these a term at a time.

This booklet, along with my others, is about 2 terms worth of NEA preparation including a booklet, powerpoint and assessment points for understanding nutrition and cooking methods (the 2 parts you are not permitted resources for so they need to KNOW this!) It is still a work in progress as this year I have combined 2 terms together, to cover 1a, 1b, 2a and 2b so it may need a tweak here and there as it’s the first time out combined. Also includes a set of Starter activities (Do Now) which I use at the start of every lesson to continue to build up a set of flash revision cards for students, keeping unit 1 knowledge going! They are all at the end of the powerpoint so you can put it up on the screen as they settle and you do the register and then get them to green pen/ check/ correct their answers.
