A series of 3/4 lessons focusing on persuasive speech writing, inspired by the film Avengers: Age of Ultron. All of the details are in the Power point. This lesson is ideal for lower ability KS3 sets and can easily be adapted for higher ability sets and KS4. Lesson 1 & 2: Watch the film Avengers: Age of Ultron and complete the learning mat to solidify understanding. Lesson 3 (&4): Students will write persuasive speeches inspired by the film and will argue whether The Avengers should be controlled by the United Nations. Students with be put into two groups (Team Captain America and Team Iron Man) and should persuade the other team that their view point in correct.

A full KS3 Drama SoW inspired by Mary King's Close in Edinburgh. It focuses around the plague hitting Mary King's Close and explores the characters and relationships of residents during this time. The scheme explores a variety of drama techniques including hot seating, still image, monologue along with many others. There are challenge tasks/ extensions set throughout. It has been very popular with the students that I have taught it to. This scheme was taught to mixed ability year eights and nines, but can easily be adapted for other year groups, and was taught over a six week term. All resources are included in the powerpoint, including homework.
