The learning Mat allows the students to work in groups to use the images to explain what is happening. I broke this into the 2 parts over 2 lessons. They write their ideas on post-its to stick on the learning mat and then use them to answer the questions. I have attached the answers so students can either self or peer assess. There is also a challenge question and the answer. The ppt has timers and objectives for the lesson. Hope you enjoy using the resource!

This is around 5 lessons combined in a PowerPoint and supported with a pupil booklet for the Water Chemistry section of the AQA C3 exam. The students annotated their booklets with key ideas as the lessons progressed. Their knowledge and understanding is then assessed with exam questions in the booklet as well as the answers to help highlight key points. The video clips were a great way of reinforcing the ideas learnt-I was unable to uplaod the water cycle song video clip but it's easily found via youtube!

The storyboard highlights how acid rain is formed, the problems it causes and help the students to have an understanding of why these problems occur. The students work in pairs and use post-it notes to write down what is being shown. The PowerPoint has 'clues' to help aid less able students to access the resource. After they have done this there is a structured worksheet to complete.

This is a learning mat to get the students to understand the electrolysis of sodium chloride for themselves. The students work in pairs to go through the storyboard, writing on post-it notes what they see. They then complete the worksheet which can be self assessed. I have found that it gives them a better understanding of what happens at the electrodes and helps them to understand half equations much more easily.

A great Christmas Quiz PowerPoint to use in class at the end of term or with your form. The 'name that tune' round needs you to play 4 midi files. I was unable to download them as part of the resource so I have attached the link to the website where I found them. Simply right click in the song and then 'save target as'.Choose whichever 4 songs you want. If when you open up the PPT the fonts look out of place you can either change them to fonts you have or download the ones I used. I used 'Frosty' 'Christmas' and 'Tinkertoy' (it just gives the quiz a xmas feel) Hope you enjoy using it!

This PowerPoint specifically helps students to draw polymers when give the monomer it originates from and then to draw the monomer unit when give the structure of the polyer. It also helps them to name polymers. I have used this in a Polymer revision lesson.

The students use the storyboard to explain how the Earth's atmosphere has changed. The resource enables them to say what the atmosphere used to be like and why, why is changed and what it's like now.

This lesson is to highlight the problems associated with quarrying for limestone. The students use the pictures to work in pairs to explain what the problems are and how they effect the environment and people living nearby. The students then apply this knowledge to complete the worksheet and self assess their answers using the markscheme.

New specification (C10 resources) Lesson includes mark scheme for evaluation activity and an extension task. Questions attached can be used as a plenary, as part of the next lesson as a possible starter or for revision of this topic at a later date.

AS Chemistry resource for shapes of molecules. I had small vials of Ammonia for the students to smell (carefully!) for the starter activity. The students will need access to molymod kits. The presentation is for 2 lessons.

Powerpoint details 6 renewable energy resources. Students then cut out statements and turn over, They then work in pairs to complete the sheet by placing the statements in the correct boxes. The table can be printed as A3 or as A4. The answers are on the powerpoint slide.

Word document is a check list of definitions and key terms. It's split into year 1 and year 2. PowerPoint has definitions and key terms on-this can be used to teach the definitions and to then check and assess the students knowledge.

I printed the sheets for the students to use as a mini-booklet. There is a cover sheet followed by the comparing group 2 and group 3 melting and boiling . The next 3 worksheets are then labelled. There is a mark scheme for the students to self assess their answers. The powerpoint presentation has the sections of the graphs-this can be used for whole class activities.

Cards can be used as part of a revision game with a set per group/table (snakes and ladders for example) or simply as a plenary activity for each student to have a question card each and to then move around the room asking their question to their peers.

Resource includes powerpoint that details lesson objectives and tasks that the students need to complete. Also included in the learning mat that students work through independently and a starter activity so you can see what they already may know at the start of the lesson. There is also a 13 mark exam question with the mark scheme included for assessment.
