AQA AS-Level Biology Flashcards

(10)
These are the flashcards that I used when revising the AS content in AQA Biology during my A-Levels - they’re typed up into a table format on Microsoft Word and cover the content in topics 1 to 4, along with another set of flashcards that provide model answers to potential big-mark questions. When producing the flashcards for content, I referred to the specification in order to cover everything I needed to know. Recommended for students to use when testing themselves on their knowledge. Using these flashcards to aid my revision enabled me to get an A in AS-Level and an A* in A-Level. Enjoy! :)

AQA GCSE Biology Topic 1 (Cell Biology) - Detailed Notes (+ Worksheet Ver.)

(0)
AQA GCSE Biology Topic 1 (Cell Biology) - Detailed Notes (+ Worksheet Ver.) This resource consists of two parts: Comprehensive, detailed notes for Topic 1 (Cell Biology) – created in accordance with the AQA specification to ensure comprehensive coverage of the entire topic! Concepts are explained concisely and straightforwardly, often using a question-and-answer format to simplify the learning process. The key words, phrases, and biological points that would get the marks in the exam are mentioned. Definitions, processes, details, and experimental procedures are all found within. A worksheet version of the notes – key words and answers have been removed, allowing you to actively engage with the content and demonstrate what you know. Read below for tips on how to use the resource. Who is this resource for? This resource is ideal for Year 11 students who will sit their AQA GCSE Biology exams soon. The detailed notes are well-structured and comprehensive while the worksheet version facilitates active recall and engagement with the content – hence this resource is ideal for students who struggle with biology and require structured guidance, and for students with high aspirations that want additional revision material. Topic 1–4 content is often taught during Year 10, so this resource would be perfect for Year 10 students too! How should I use this resource? After downloading this resource, I would recommend either printing or exporting the document to MS Word or a note-taking app. Make use of the detailed notes first – read through it and make sure you understand all the concepts. Highlight and underline key words, make additional annotations, and use it as a basis to make your own resources like flashcards, posters, and mindmaps. After getting comfortable with the topic contents, test yourself using the worksheet version – try to fill in the gaps and answer the questions in detail, before comparing your answers to the detailed notes. This allows you to engage with the content as you once again absorb the knowledge. The worksheet version can be used on a regular basis for active recall – for example, if on an iPad or tablet, you can erase all your answers and attempt the worksheet again weekly. Following this, attempt exam papers and practice questions from the AQA website, and add any additional information to the detailed notes to look over next time. Do you have resources for Biology Topics 2–7? I’ll be uploading the remaining topics in due course! It may take some time but they should all be uploaded before the exams!
