Vertical Academic Wall Calendar 2023-2024

Last year I started making and printing these myself. Our office is very small and so there was no wall space for a conventional academic wall calendar. This fits nicely in a very small space and information can be added with tab sized post it notes. Weekends are in bold and the calendar goes from september 2023-August 2024 They measure roughly 40cm wide by 80cm Long. You can get them printed at a local graphics shop for about £3/4 normally but prices do differ. Most schools have a large scale printer which can be used to print these sort of sizes, for cheap. Alternatively you can use the PDF settings to split the printing over a number of A3 pages for minimal cost (just glue the parts together)

Non Examination Assessment NEA 1 AQA Food Prepatation and Nutrition Starter Pack

As a non specialist learning to teach the AQA Food Preparation and Nutrition GCSE specification I created these powerpoints to use along-side my lessons. I used these to run mocks with year 10 before the real deal in year 11. They were particularly helpful during covid to use with live lessons online for my year 11 classes. This resource pack includes : 1 hour long seminar including time for the class to analyse the exam questions (this is left blank to change the questions each year) 1 section A powerpoint explaining how to set up a Google document, create a bibliography, analyse the task and carry out research and showing student examples. 1 section B powerpoint explaining how to carry out the experiments, how to create a radar graph / star profile using Google sheets and showing past student examples and layout examples. 1 section C powerpoint explaining how to evaluate and analyse results, giving sentence starters and student examples and including an end of project check list. 1 Layout guide. I printed these as examples and allowed pupils to make notes before they typed them up. (This can easily be edited to create a blank document for printing, which I had to do one year when we were unable to complete our NEA 1 mocks on the computers. ) I hope this resource is useful for someone else teaching this specification for the first time. The GCSE results received with these resources have been good two years in a row so I thought I’d upload them to share with others :) If you purchase this product and find it helpful please leave me a 5 star review. It would really help a lot to have feedback. Happy teaching!

A work sheet which was made in response to lost learning during 2020. This can be set as homework or used throughout a lesson with teacher guidance for a whole class. Uses of the sheet include: Spot the spelling mistake in the title - to be highlighted and corrected three times Spot the key words - to be highlighted when seen. We asked pupils to write these in their books after or during the class discussion and word the definitions themselves. Find the information questions I hope these sheets help someone. But before any negative reviews are left (as I’ve discovered that people on here can be unkind) please remember I am a non specialist.

This resource contains two, hour long lessons. One is on view points and one is on perspective. I use this as a basis for my pop art SOL where pupils create a clay chocolate bar and product perspective studies of it. I am very conscious of pupils presentation so the power point also shows pupils how to present their work. There are a couple or starter discussion points for each lesson and a challenge for a plenary. I hope you enjoy! If you purchase please leave feedback so I can continue to improve my resources.

I laminated this resource to use as a learning mat for my year 8 Food lessons. They used it to help inspire them to design a variety of cakes. The brief for the project was to create a series of dishes which are made using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. Let me know if you find this helpful. -Miss P
