Cards for a child to hold up if they know the answer, need more time or do not know the answer and don’t want to be chosen. Primarily used with children with SEND who struggled to verbalise what they needed or put their hand up however they were beneficial for shy children etc too. Colour coded with images to support. Easily adaptable as needed.

Notebook presentation for whole class input about 10 and 100 less (main focus 10 less). Used with a Year 3 class. Excellent varied fluency, looking at different representations and a reasoning question at the end. Counters and base 10 set for infinite cloning so you can discuss making the numbers with children and enforce place value.

List of synonyms used for a display. I put the original word in bold above a plastic cup. I then placed the laminated synonyms in the plastic cup for children to choose and include in their writing. This really helped improve engagement with a reluctant class. Words could be used for any purpose such as part of a lesson. Includes synonyms for sad, big, walk, said, nice and happy.
