Silly materials
Children identify materials used to make different objects, and decide what materials would be 'silly' when used for different purposes.
Uplevelling vocabulary display
A display I use in my classroom to encourage pupils to use different words for 'said', as well as exciting verbs and connectives. I have photocopied each group of words onto a different coloured sheet of card and laminated them for pupils to collect from the wall and include in their writing.

EAL support - picture labelling
A picture for EAL children to learn, based on the topic of fruit and vegetables. The sheet is suitable for children at a very early stage of learning English and allows them to label a picture using a bilingual dictionary or support assistant.
Guided Reading Comprehension Framework
A frame I use for writing comprehension questions. I have one laminated sheet per group and write the appropriate questions relating to the book on the sheet. Saves time with printing and using paper.

A year 1 history lesson based on shops in the past and present, includes pictures of different shops for children to label.
Year 1 writing targets
Differentiated writing targets which were displayed on the wall and stuck in children's books. They liked the cartoon character used to display the targets.

Questions using Max, the hodgeheg. I have used this resource with my year 3 class when we were looking at the book. The questions relate to vocabulary to do with addition.
Suffix -ity endings
I cut these up and put them into envelopes. Pupils had to match up the ending with the root word.

An activity for pupils to match up the word containing the suffix 'ible' with the correct meaning.
