Presentation comprises of resources developed for use on any descriptive or creative writing activity / unit of work. I developed these resources as part of an outstanding teaching course I attended and have tried and tested these with students with much success. The slides contain the following: a 6x6 board-game /grid for writing / re-drafting a descriptive / creative piece - use with dice (instructions included) a descriptive writing skills grid for guidance on what should be included in description and can be used as a checklist for assessing work A series of book marks or could be used as a planning mat, focussing on vocabulary choices to create different moods as appropriate to different settings A Nando's themed vocabulary up-level grid, showing students how to move through stages in using vocabulary for effect ranging from mild to extra hot. I will be uploading more resources as I go, so please look out for them. I also have some full units of work uploaded.

A very versatile resource that can be used in a variety of ways. Tried and tested with my Y11 GCSE class, this resource has proved invaluable in: Encouraging development in AO2, helping students to better understand / analyse language & structure Helping students to contextualise key quotations and recognise relationships with other quotes / characters Helping students to navigate the play without the reliance of a copy of the play in front of them I use this activity every day, irrespective of what area of the curriculum / text we are studying and since doing so, have noticed a marked improvement in students' ability to analyse language and structure; in their understanding of the plot, themes and characters and their overall engagement with the text. I am currently developing this resource for other GCSE Literature texts - it works!
