Use this flap book in your writing lessons about Julia Donaldson’s book about the Ugly Five. Cut along the dotted lines to the ‘title stem’, so that each picture becomes a ‘flap’. Put glue on the title stem and stick into children’s books. Children write about each picture underneath it. For children who struggle with placement of writing, drawing boxes underneath will also be helpful. Use this across 3 days of writing, to chunk this up. Would make a nice weekly English activity, with reading the book and responding to the characters on day 1, writing on days 2-4 and editing on day 5.
