I have taken some parts from another downloaded resource! This ppt focuses on AQA English Language paper 2. It asks students to debate and then write a broadsheet newspaper on the topic of the death penalty. The statement given is: ' ‘The death penalty is an appropriate way to serve justice.’ This was taken from a previously downloaded PPT from TES. I added a persuasive point score board to encourage students to write more creatively. Aimed at core/lower KS4 class.

This 32 slide resource includes; model answers, youtube links, annotated stanzas and exam style questions on the poems. Activities are group and individual and conforms to a teacher-led style lesson. I have taken some slides/ideas from other ppt I have found or downloaded.

The ppt uses thought provoking questions, peer assessment and encourages students to analyse the meaning/tone/language/structure through the use of prompt questions. Aimed at a lower ability class who need prompting however does contain some challenge questions to stretch more able students. All images used are from Google images.

This lesson is based around group work with differentiated work sheets (prompting questions for lower ability). Aimed at a high ability class who are studying poetry therefore know how to identify techniques and explore language. The ppt could be adapted for individual work also. This lesson is aimed at low ability students who are struggling to compare poems from the power and conflict.

This PPT is aimed at core ability KS3 students. It is based around a differentiated group work task that includes mark criteria, timers and allocated roles. The ppt covers conflict, characters and plot. I used with a year 8 class prior to an assessment.

This PPT includes 17 slides based on KS3 or low ability KS4 learning how to effectively compare a Prelutsky and a Hughes poem. This lesson was taught to my year 7 high ability class as part of the gothic genre we were studying.
