This unit provides the children to understand how structures are built around them, with the focus on playground objects. The children will be given chance to make different playground structures out of different construction equipment. The children will be able to design and make their own playground equipment. The children will have to opportunity to investigate their won school bags and look at how they are constructed. the children will then be shown how to sew back stitch. Using this new skill the children will then create a drawstring bag can be adapted to suit any topic. A complete D&T unit to help teach children about how wheels and axles work. They will be given the opportunity to explore toys that have wheels and see how they move. Afterwards the children will then look at how to make different combinations of wheels and axles. They will finally be then given the task to design and make a product using the skills that they have just learnt.
