Year 6 - Health Related Fitness
This 6-lesson Health Related Fitness Scheme of Work has been designed for Year 6 PE and focuses on developing pupils’ understanding of the key methods of training while improving their physical fitness through engaging, practical lessons.
Across the unit, pupils explore the four main methods of training; continuous, interval, circuit and fartlek training. Learning how and when each is used by athletes and how they can improve different components of fitness. Every lesson combines theory with active participation, encouraging pupils to apply their knowledge through games, challenges and collaborative activities.
