Every year, I create a house quiz for lower and upper KS2. We come together and the children are grouped in teams of up to 6 in their houses. The questions are a mixture of- Round 1- Christmas Knowledge (getting increasingly harder) Round 2- Christmas Maths (mixture of questions for LKS2 and UKS2) Round 3- Christmas SPAG (mixture of questions for LKS2 and UKS2) Round 4- Name that 2019 Tune! (I use spotify on a speaker and play 5 songs from the year, the children must name the artist and title) Round 5- Who is that wearing a Christmas Hat? (10 celebrities/characters from 2019 wearing a Santa hat to guess) Round 6- Name that Christmas Carol (I use spotify to play 5 carols and the children must know the name of it) Round 7- General Knowledge (10 general knowledge questions) There is also an answer sheet provided that is printed A3 and double sided. Name that Christmas Carol General Knowledge There is a sheet for the children to answer on (Print back to back on A3) and also an answer sheet included for teachers. In my school we would usually have mixed groups of Year3-6 but this year we are going to do the quiz remotely between Years3-6 who will sit in their houses to complete. We will then count up all of the scores. FOR THE MUSIC ROUND (Songs are included on the teacher answer sheet- I would recommend playing these through a separate speaker!- saves eager eyes spotting youtube links etc!)
