Lesson 4 - This lesson is aimed at Y7 or KS3. This lesson is about Africa’s colonial past, looking at the impacts of the colonial era on different countries and how different European colonies approached colonialism.

This is the fifth in a series of lessons on the impacts of globalisation. This lesson has been prepared for year 7 but could be used for any classes within a KS3 year group.

Lesson 2 - A lesson aimed at Y7 or KS3 in general. This goes into the detail of 3 of Africa’s main ecosystems - Tropical Rainforest, Savannah, and Desert. Mangroves are also looked at within the lesson.

Lesson 3 - This lesson is aimed at Y7 or KS3, It is about the natural resources available within Africa and the impacts this could have for it’s countries.

Lesson 7 - This is aimed at Y7 or KS3. This lesson is about how climate change is and could impact Africa’s different ecosystems and therefore impact on their overall development.

Lesson 1 - Aimed at Y7 or KS3 who haven’t studied Africa before. This lesson uses map skills, and looks at Africa as a whole continent addressing the issue with many students referring to Africa as a country rather than a continent with 54 countries.

Lesson 5 - This lesson focuses on Angola, looking at the strengths and weaknesses of governments and what might happen if corruption is found within the government.

Lesson 6 - This lesson is aimed at Y7 or KS3. This lesson is about some of Africa’s largest and longest conflicts, looking at both causes and impacts of conflict and how this can affect the development of a country.

The first in a series of lessons suitable for KS3 Geography on Globalisation. Originally planned for year 7 but could be used with all KS3 year groups. The lesson covers main definitions of globalisation and discussion around global companies.
