The Lost Words KS1 Literacy planning

(0)
Literacy planning aimed at year 1 and 2 based on the fantastic book ‘The Lost words’. If you haven’t seen this book then seek it out, absolutely fabulous for all age groups. On first impressions the content seems too hard for KS1 but there is so much you can do with this book. We took the ‘spell book’ approach which our children loved. This planning covers fiction and non-fiction objectives and word and sentence level work. Easily adaptable. This was used for a whole terms work on this book alongside linked topic work. A range of resources I created also included. If resources are mentioned in the planning and not included they have been downloaded from other members or from other resource sites and easily available. Hope it is useful, please leave a review. Thanks

Toys/Traction Man KS1 Literacy planning

Literacy planning on the theme of ‘Toys’ beginning using clips from Toy Story and a range of texts including ‘I love you Blue Kangaroo’ by Emma Chichester Clark, ‘Toys in space’ by Mini Grey leading to more extended planning and final project using ‘Traction man’ by Mini Grey. We also made toys as part of our DT work so then used this experience to write instructions and adverts so planning also included. Planning is enough for a terms work. Aimed at Y2 objectives but easily adaptable. Resources I have created included, if others are mentioned in planning they were downloaded from other members or resource sites and easily available. Hope you find it useful, please leave a review. Thanks.
