A revision powerpoint which covers, events, characters, themes, key quotations and two practice exam questions, inspired by many other great contributors. I printed slides 3-15 and gave it to my students and they completed the sheets in the lessons. This is a powerpoint display which I created as a classroom display. It has key terms useful for both English Language and English Literature, along with examples of these key terms. Students from KS3 to Post 16 use it to recap key terms or generate examples.

A practice paper designed to help prepare students for Component 2 of the Eduqas GCSE English Language. There is a letter from Florence Nightingale and an article describing some of the issues facing nurses today. The activities will probably take several lessons to complete.

A lesson designed to introduce students to the Edexcel IGCSE English (4EA1) Anthology text, The Danger of a Single Story (also a TED talk, the full version of which can be viewed on their website). The lesson/powerpoint is geared towards developing students’ comprehension, analysis and transactional writing skills. There is also a word document with some practice exam questions.

A powerpoint quiz to check that students have read the novel and retained some of the key events and details! I use on the first lesson of studying the novel, but it could obviously be used at any stage, or as a revision activity.

One or two lessons looking at AQA AS/A Level Paper 1, Section A (Meanings and Representations). The two texts are taken from Obama and Trump's speeches on immigration.

A grid containing past questions as well as newly generated questions for all 16 poems from the IGCSE Edexcel Anthology for English LIterature Paper 1, Section B. On the reverse of the sheet there is also a grid using the TWIST acronym to help students compare poems.

A practice exam paper I have made for IGCSE Edexcel English Language Exam Paper 1 based on ‘The Danger of a Single Story’ from Section A of the anthology. Includes both Section A and Section B and copies of both texts.

This is a display I use in my classroom to remind students of the stages they should go through in order to produce a good piece of writing. It can be used for creative writing or even essay writing.
